Director Data Consultant

We are looking for a Director of Data Consulting to join our remote workforce.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, development, and launch of enterprise data platforms and solutions that align with organizational objectives
• Architect and implement data systems, including data lakes, analytics platforms, and reporting solutions, leveraging major cloud providers and advanced data processing tools
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Solution Architects, and technical teams to convert requirements into scalable and resilient data architectures
• Advise clients on data management, governance, and operational models to build sustainable and efficient data ecosystems
• Oversee consulting engagements and presales activities, demonstrating deep expertise in data engineering, analytics, and management
• Review current data environments, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to boost data quality, availability, and governance
• Stay informed about new trends, technologies, and best practices in data management, AI/ML, and cloud, applying these insights to client solutions
• Contribute to the creation and deployment of accelerators, templates, and open-source resources to enhance EPAM’s Data Service offerings
• Promote best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring high standards in code quality and CI/CD implementation
• Communicate complex technical ideas and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences, supporting stakeholder alignment and decision-making
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor in all areas of data technology and strategy

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience in IT, with a minimum of 8 years in roles such as Data Technology Consultant, Data Architect, or similar positions on enterprise data projects
• Participation in at least 10 large-scale projects or experience launching 3 or more products or major product features to market
• Proven track record of leading teams of 70+ FTEs or smaller teams with significant business impact
• Advanced expertise in data platforms and cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Proficiency in data processing frameworks such as Databricks and MS Fabric for enterprise solutions
• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python for data engineering and analytics
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and data quality tools to ensure reliable and accurate data
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including natural language processing and computer vision
• Thorough understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and practices that support quality-focused software development
• Deep knowledge of data architecture, lifecycle management, and enterprise data product design
• Hands-on experience delivering large-scale data solutions, including data lakes, analytics platforms, and reporting systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a record of designing and implementing innovative data solutions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders to define and deliver impactful data strategies
• Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex data projects with measurable business outcomes
• Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
• Fluent English communication skills at C1 level, both written and spoken
• Consulting skills, including stakeholder management, client relationship building, and clear communication of technical concepts
• Ability to stay current with industry trends, conduct market and competitor research, and apply insights to strategic planning
