The company initially operated from Niterói/RJ (from 2001) and moved its Brazilian headquarters to Bragança Paulista/SP in 2003, where it remains today and hosts the traditional “Bejo a Campo” field events. Bejo invests consistently in the development of high-quality, high-value varieties cultivars tailored to the Brazilian market. Its portfolio covers a broad range of vegetable crops, including lettuce, leek, chicory, beetroot, broccoli, onions (yellow, white, red), carrots, endive, cauliflower, fennel, kale, industrial cucumbers, peppers, radish, radicchio, cabbage, celery and tomatoes, among others. The company combines innovation, technical support and close relationships with the value chain to deliver differentiated solutions to growers.

Main Activities or Responsibilities:

  • Strategically lead the Sales, Product Development and Marketing teams, ensuring alignment with Bejo’s Country Strategy Plan (short and long term).
  • Drive revenue growth and profitability in Brazil, with a specific focus on key regions (Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro) and on strengthening the dealer network.
  • Define and implement commercial plans, sales budgets and expense control, monitoring performance and adjusting actions when necessary.
  • Establish and review pricing policies and go-to-market strategies, adapting them to regional, cultural and economic differences across Brazil.
  • Coordinate the seed purchasing/import plan, ensuring inventory levels are aligned with demand (avoiding both stockouts and excess).
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with distributors, nurseries, growers and processors, acting as a key representative of Bejo in Brazil.
  • Represent the company at events, field days, commercial visits and strategic negotiations.
  • Contribute as a member of the management team of Bejo Brazil, participating actively in the medium- and long-term strategic planning.
  • Lead innovation initiatives in product development and marketing, working closely with technical and marketing teams to position varieties and build impactful campaigns.
  • Focus strongly on team development: setting individual goals and development plans, building and preparing the sales, marketing and product development teams for the future.

Requirements:

  • Education and Technical Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related fields.
  • MBA or postgraduate studies are considered a strong plus.
  • Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the vegetable seed industry.
  • Proven track record in leading sales teams and managing commercial operations (preferably involving dealers, nurseries and growers).
  • Experience in managing budgets, pricing, go-to-market strategies and key customer relationships.
  • Experience working with national or regional commercial structures in Brazil.
  • Experience in administrative purchasing routines;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and report preparation;
  • Fluency in Portuguese.
  • Very strong / near-fluent English (spoken and written), given the daily interaction with global/regional teams.
  • Spanish is an asset.
  • Availability to travel frequently (around 40–50% of the time).
  • Must reside in Bragança Paulista/SP or within a 50 km radius.
