The Junior Accountant role is responsible for executing and maintaining accurate day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring transactions are properly recorded, accounts are reconciled, and financial processes run efficiently. This position supports the company’s mission by promoting efficiency, consistency, and reliability across all accounting activities.

The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable with full-cycle accounting concepts, maintaining financial records, supporting the preparation of financial statements, and participating in ad-hoc projects.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Work schedule: 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (aligned with the U.S. time zone);

  • Record and maintain journal entries related to the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash, accruals, and other adjusting entries, including month-end and year-end closing activities;

  • Work with large data sets in Excel to create reports, perform calculations, and support financial analysis;

  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable aging, ensuring balances remain accurate and in good standing;

  • Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis;

  • Prepare, organize, and attach supporting documentation to journal entries in PDF format;

  • Perform collections-related activities, including invoicing, payment application, follow-up emails, and follow-up calls;

  • Analyze account activity and identify discrepancies, trends, or unusual transactions;

  • Prepare financial statements and analyze month-to-date (MTD) and year-to-date (YTD) variances;

  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and files within the company’s systems;

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support ad-hoc projects as needed.

What we expect from you:

  • Proficiency in English;

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills;

  • Experience with at least one accounting software;

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, including fixed assets, cash management, accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, as well as general knowledge of Finance;

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Accounting;

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.

You will stand out if you have:

  • Experience with QuickBooks;

  • Knowledge of or experience with Great Plains;

  • Experience in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry;

  • Experience using digital tools and artificial intelligence;

  • Experience working with a U.S. based company.
