We are strengthening our data-focused backend platform and need a Middle Java Developer to deliver scalable Java services and pipelines. You will code with Java 17+, create Apache Beam transforms, deploy and monitor Dataflow jobs, and work closely with clients and teammates; apply today

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable backend components using Java frameworks and tooling
  • Design solutions jointly with the team to align technical implementation with business needs
  • Produce well-structured, efficient code that is easy to maintain and follows standards
  • Improve runtime performance and scalability to maintain a strong user experience
  • Diagnose defects and resolve incidents to preserve system stability
  • Contribute to peer code reviews and refine shared development practices
  • Engage stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver solutions that meet objectives
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend adoption to increase team effectiveness

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of professional Java experience, including Core, Collections, StreamAPI, and Concurrency for backend development
  • Working knowledge of JDK 17+ and practical use of Maven or Gradle to manage builds and dependencies
  • Demonstrated ability with Apache Beam and Dataflow, covering DoFn, ParDo, GroupByKey transforms and Dataflow job deployment/monitoring
  • Solid testing and QA skills, including JUnit unit tests and disciplined participation in code reviews
  • Advanced English proficiency at B2+ (Upper-Intermediate) or above, comfortable in client-facing discussions and status updates

Nice to have

  • Working familiarity with GCP, including Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, IAM roles, and security practices
  • Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores such as BigQuery, relational databases, or other NoSQL systems
  • Understanding of CI/CD workflows and Jenkins for automated builds and deployments
  • Knowledge of AVRO and Parquet formats for serialization and efficient storage
  • Experience with XML and XSD for schema validation and modeling
  • Exposure to Equifax GBP or comparable systems in financial/credit data environments
