We are looking for a strategic Senior Technical Writer to architect the user experience of our documentation. Your primary mission will be to transform our technical content from a collection of articles into a cohesive, intuitive, and highly usable journey for our global users. You will analyze how customers find and use information, identify and eliminate friction points, and build a world-class content ecosystem for our Privileged Access Management (PAM) products. This role is perfect for a writer who thinks like a UX designer and wants to own the information architecture that drives customer success.
Responsibilities
- Architect the end-to-end documentation journey, mapping user flows and transforming fragmented content into cohesive, intuitive pathways that guide users from novice to expert.
- Author clear, user-centered documentation that simplifies complex workflows, covering multiple personas (end users, admins, security engineers, support agents).
- Champion and implement modern documentation practices, including structured authoring and a Docs-as-Code workflow (Git, Markdown, CI/CD), to ensure content is scalable, consistent, and easy to navigate.
- Define and evolve our information architecture, templates, and style guides to create a unified voice and a predictable structure across all content.
- Become the voice of the user by analyzing support tickets, customer feedback, and content analytics to identify pain points and drive data-informed improvements to the content experience.
- Lead content audits and strategic initiatives to eliminate outdated, redundant, and fragmented content that disrupts the user flow.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Support in an Agile environment to ensure documentation is an integral part of the product development lifecycle, not an afterthought.
- Serve as a reference point for the team in matters of content quality, usability, editorial standards, and long-term content strategy.
- Mentor other writers on best practices for user-centered writing and information architecture.
Qualifications (Must Have)
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Information Architecture, UX Design, Journalism, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in technical writing, content strategy, or content design, with a portfolio that demonstrates a focus on user journeys and information architecture.
- Proven experience solving complex content usability problems (e.g., reorganizing a large documentation set, creating a new information architecture).
- Strong understanding of Git, Markdown, and the principles of modern, agile documentation workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to use user feedback, analytics, and support data to make content decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the maturity and accountability to drive cross-team initiatives.
Nice to Have
- Deep understanding of content strategy frameworks like Diátaxis, topic-based authoring, or other structured documentation models.
- Experience with AI-assisted writing, content linting tools, or building automation pipelines.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and/or Privileged Access Management (PAM) is a strong asset.
- Experience writing or designing in-product text (microcopy)."
