Job Title: Senior YouTube Video Editor (Part-Time)
Location: Remote

We are hiring a high-level Video Editor & Creative Partner to help take an established YouTube channel (with ~3M subscribers) into its next phase of growth.
We are looking for an editor with excellent creative judgment, strong storytelling instincts, and a high standard for polish—someone who can take ownership of long-form YouTube content and consistently elevate it over time.
You will work closely with the creator (a Doctor of Physical Therapy) to produce calm, authoritative, and highly watchable educational videos in the health, fitness, mobility, and pain-relief space.

What You’ll Be Editing
On average per month:
- 4–5 long-form YouTube videos (8–14 minutes)
- 4 short-form clips (≤25 seconds) derived from long-form content
- Talking head
- Instructional
- Follow-along movement and rehab education
A successful editor in this role:
- Delivers a strong Version 1 (not a rough cut)
- Anticipates feedback and applies it across future videos
- Learns quickly and does not repeat mistakes
- Understands when to add graphics or effects
- Protects the credibility, authority, and trust of the presenter
- Improves pacing, flow, and clarity without being asked every time
- Communicates clearly, reliably, and proactively
- Edit long-form YouTube videos with a focus on pacing, clarity, and viewer trust
- Make thoughtful creative decisions around timing, emphasis, and structure
- Ensure visuals align tightly with spoken instruction and on-screen demonstrations
- Maintain consistency in brand style, tone, and visual language
- Add light motion graphics, callouts, captions, and on-screen elements only when they improve clarity
- Create short-form clips that feel native to YouTube Shorts and social platforms
- Maintain organized project files, assets, and version control
- Collaborate closely with the creator to refine workflow and creative direction over time
- Proven experience editing long-form YouTube content
- Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, and viewer engagement
- Fluent or near-native English (written and spoken); excellent spelling and grammar
- High attention to detail and polish
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Strong communication skills and openness to feedback
- Portfolio of work you can clearly explain and defend creatively
- Experience editing educational, health, fitness, or instructional content
- Understanding of YouTube audience retention and watch-time optimization
- Comfort suggesting creative improvements or alternative approaches
- Experience working directly with a creator or small media team
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Motion graphics experience (After Effects) is a plus
- Comfortable working with raw footage and delivering polished final videos
- This is not an agency-style role
- This is not a “follow a checklist and move on” position
- This is not for editors juggling many unrelated clients
