Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) is looking for an experienced 3rd Engineer (3/E) to join an offshore seismic/research vessel operating out of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. You will support the engine department in keeping all machinery running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in operation, monitoring and maintenance of main engines, auxiliaries, and all engine room equipment
- Carry out routine inspections, checks, and planned maintenance as per instructions and PMS
- Record and report engine room parameters, consumptions, and defects to senior engineers
- Assist with bunker operations, transfers, and handling of fuels and lubricants
- Ensure safe working practices and good housekeeping in the engine room at all times
- Support seismic/research equipment operations from the engineering side when required
Requirements
- Valid 3rd Engineer (III/1 or higher) Certificate of Competency meeting STCW requirements
- Previous experience as 3/E, preferably on offshore, seismic, research or similar vessels
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety certificates and medical fitness
- Strong knowledge of engine room systems, troubleshooting and planned maintenance
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken
- Team player with a strong safety mindset and readiness to work in offshore rotations
