Billing & Collection Operations Manager

We are Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) — Brazil’s most innovative, AI-powered health plan for companies — and we’re transforming a market that hasn’t changed in decades. While consumer expectations evolve at lightning speed, the traditional health plan experience is still stuck in the past: friction, bureaucracy, delays for exam approvals, weeks to book appointments, and unreasonable price adjustments. A plan that acts only as reactive financial insurance simply isn’t enough.

With AI at the core, we ensure our members receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place. Our health journey is seamless, engaging, and deeply reliable — enabling truly proactive health management.

Over 8,000 companies and 75,000+ people already trust Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados). And we’re growing fast: our member additions more than tripled from Sep–Dec/23 to May–Sep/24. Our satisfaction scores reflect this: 4.8/5 both for our 24/7 app support (Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) Agora) and for appointments with our specialist physicians. This is what healthcare should look like.

Join us in making the world healthier. You will play a key role in shaping a more sustainable, scalable health system — one that millions of people can access.

Our Billing & Collection Challenge

The Billing team owns the full calculation, consolidation, and issuance of monthly charges for every client. You will ensure this end-to-end engine runs with precision, scale, and operational excellence — while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

You will architect and implement processes and KPIs, navigate high-volume variable datasets, manage monthly deadlines, and orchestrate multiple system and team integrations. You will also lead the team responsible for executing the billing operation.

What you will own

  • Lead the full client billing lifecycle (B2B and B2C) — from value consolidation to invoice issuance and delivery;

  • Own data quality and monthly financial close, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and predictability;

  • Partner closely with Operations, Finance, and Tech to map, automate, and scale processes end-to-end;

  • Investigate issues deeply and solve root causes with long-term, systemic solutions;

  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and process flow;

  • Hire, lead, mentor and develop the team executing the billing process.

What to expect from the routine

  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with monthly and weekly cycles that require strong prioritization and a clear sense of ownership.

  • Balance strategic process redesign with hands-on involvement in critical steps of the billing workflow.

  • Constantly refine integrations between systems (ERP, CRM, internal platforms) and improve reconciliation accuracy.

  • Address operational exceptions, diagnose data inconsistencies, and lead the resolution with cross-functional teams.

  • Build forecasts, dashboards, and performance reviews to support decision-making and ensure predictability.

  • Cultivate a high-performance culture within the team, based on accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Solid experience leading billing, collections, or financial operations teams in fast-paced or high-volume environments.

  • Strong background in process design, automation, and operational scaling.

  • Advanced analytical skills and strong proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and reconciliation tools.

  • Experience working with ERPs, CRMs, and financial systems; familiarity with APIs and integrations is a plus.

  • Proven ability to manage monthly close routines and ensure accuracy under tight deadlines.

  • Experience managing and developing teams, including creating structure, defining metrics, and enabling growth.

  • Strong communication skills across audiences, with the ability to explain complex topics simply and objectively.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, building clarity, and driving alignment among multiple stakeholders.

  • Previous experience in subscription, B2B2C, or health-related businesses is a differentiator (not mandatory).

Our expectations of a strong candidate

  • Execution excellence: Strong operator with a hands-on mindset, deep ownership, rigorous attention to detail, and proven experience leading billing and collections operations.

  • Strategic thinker: Able to design and scale processes combining product, data, and operations; comfortable navigating ambiguity and high complexity across multiple stakeholders.

  • Analytical powerhouse: Skilled in data manipulation and analysis for decision-making. Familiar with ERPs, CRMs, automation, and reconciliation tools.

  • Clear and compelling communicator: Able to articulate with clarity across audiences, both synchronously and asynchronously.

  • Collaborative leader: Works seamlessly across teams, shares context transparently, and drives aligned, high-quality decisions;

  • Proven expertise in billing and collections is a strong differentiator for this role
