About the role
As a Data Engineer (FinOps), you will build and scale data solutions that drive cost transparency and performance optimization across cloud environments. Leveraging SQL, Python, and modern orchestration tools, you’ll develop pipelines, datasets, and automation frameworks that enable accurate cost attribution and informed financial decision-making. This role offers strong cross-functional impact, working with Product, Engineering, and Finance to uncover cost-saving opportunities and shape scalable, data-driven FinOps practices.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and implement tooling and datasets for telemetry-driven cost attribution and financial modeling;
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and automation frameworks for cost transparency and optimization;
- Develop systems to identify cost-saving opportunities and support discount modeling and management;
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability through validation, auditing, and observability;
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Analytics stakeholders;
- Improve scalability, performance, and reliability of ELT and ETL pipelines;
- Support and enhance CI/CD processes and infrastructure automation.
Must haves
- 4+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Engineering;
- Strong experience with SQL and Python;
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster;
- Experience designing and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines;
- Strong background in data modeling and schema design;
- Experience with AWS services and Snowflake;
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform;
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs;
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and observability tools like Datadog;
- Strong analytical skills with focus on data auditing and validation;
- FinOps certification;
- Upper-intermediate English level.
Nice to haves
- Experience with Scala;
- Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed systems;
- Understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies;
- Experience in data-driven and cross-functional environments.
