Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a Database Administrator who can serve as the team's guiding star for database best practices. This role is ideal for someone with deep SQL expertise and strong analytical skills, who can establish standards, optimize performance, and guide the team in data modeling, architecture, and governance.
You'll partner closely with backend engineers and application teams (including .NET developers), providing strategic direction on database design, query optimization, and reliable data management. While the environment is mostly cloud-based, occasional on-prem work may be required. Familiarity with Redis is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to expert for database best practices and standards
- Analyze, design, and maintain relational databases to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and database processes
- Provide guidance on data modeling, schema design, migrations, and documentation
- Identify bottlenecks, implement optimization strategies, and monitor database health
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement data-driven solutions
- Establish governance practices to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Support .NET application teams and other internal stakeholders
Some Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of experience in database analysis, DBA, or database engineering roles
- Strong expertise in relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar)
- Advanced SQL skills: query optimization, indexing, performance tuning
- Experience working with Redis or other caching technologies
- Familiarity supporting .NET application environments
- Strong understanding of data modeling and normalization principles
- Experience troubleshooting production database issues
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineering and business stakeholders
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)

The work hours will be approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required.
