IAM Operations Engineer

What you’ll achieve
As an IAM Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the operational support, optimization, planning, design, testing, and management of Identity & Access Management (IAM) tools and technologies.
This role is strongly focused on hands-on operations and production support, requiring deep troubleshooting expertise, process discipline, and strong documentation practices. You will play a critical role in ensuring secure and reliable identity services across the enterprise while supporting live IAM environments and resolving access-related issues.
Working as part of a global team, you will help ensure consistent operational execution, maintain strong technical documentation, improve IAM processes, and collaborate with cyber engineering, IT, and business application teams to enhance the organization’s identity security posture.
You will:
- Oversee Incident, Change, Problem, and Knowledge Management processes and troubleshoot IAM tool and process issues such as:
- Provisioning failures
- Authentication / SSO / MFA issues
- Sync and attribute errors
- Access workflow failures
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents impacting production IAM environments
- Create and maintain detailed documentation (runbooks, SOPs, knowledge articles, process flows) to support operations, compliance, and audit readiness
- Maintain and optimize IAM tools, workflows, reporting, and identify automation and process improvement opportunities
- Participate in tool and process reviews to identify enhancements and evaluate emerging IAM technologies
- Support upgrades, patches, migrations, and integrations by executing test plans and validation activities
- Collaborate with IT, security, and application teams to ensure effective identity lifecycle management (Joiner/Mover/Leaver processes)

Essential Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in IAM, IT operations, or cybersecurity, with strong hands-on operational/support experience (not purely architecture or strategy)
- Background in IT Support / Service Desk is acceptable with relevant IAM exposure
- Hands-on experience with IAM platforms, including at least one of the following areas:
- Directory services: Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Authentication: SSO, MFA (Okta, Duo, Ping, RSA, or similar)
- Identity governance / access management tools
- Working knowledge of IAM fundamentals:
- JML (Joiner/Mover/Leaver)
- RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)
- Least privilege
- Access governance and SSO
- Proven experience in:
- Incident resolution
- Troubleshooting access issues
- Supporting live IAM environments
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
- Experience handling tickets and workflows (ServiceNow is a plus)
- Strong documentation skills (runbooks, SOPs, knowledge base)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, including English (written and spoken)
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with IAM solutions such as SailPoint, Saviynt, Okta, CyberArk, Ping or similar,
- Experience with:
- IAM integrations, migrations, or upgrades
- Testing IAM solutions and validating access during deployments
- Exposure to automation or workflow improvement initiatives
- Experience working in global environments and cross-functional teams
