A Day in the Life:
As our new Indirect Tax Supervisor, you aren't just sitting behind a desk, you're the high-octane engine under the hood, fueling Monster Energy's global compliance at full speed. Working side-by-side with the Tax Manager, you'll tear through system maintenance and tackle the heavy lifting of tax reforms with relentless passion. This isn't about just reviewing returns; you are the go-to expert, building rock-solid controls and guiding teams to keep us running clean, compliant, and always ahead of the competition.
The Impact You'll Make:
- Review all Indirect tax routines including Tax calculation, Tax returns, and other obligations (related to ICMS/ICMS-ST (Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services and Substitution Tax), PIS (federal social contribution calculated as a
percentage of revenue), COFINS (monthly federal social assistance contribution calculated as a percentage of revenue), ISS (municipal tax levied on the provision of services listed under Supplementary Law 116/2003), WHT (Income Tax
Withholding) and others). - Follow up on tax legislation changes and apply them accordingly to operations.
- Create controls to be used by the tax department. Develop and maintain tax policies, monitor regulatory changes, implement tax systems and processes, and advise business units on the tax implications of contracts, acquisitions, and
product/service offerings. - Assist the Tax Manager to prepare tax reports and create/review standard procedures in the department. Liaise with tax authorities, external advisers, and auditors.
- Renew and control Tax Debts Certificates.
- Give tax support and orientation to other departments, vendors and suppliers.
- Assist in the systems maintenance to guarantee the correct tax calculation. Identify and implement improvements to processes, documents, tools, and reports.
- Assist other members of the Tax Team.
Who You Are:
Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of- -Accounting, Finance or related field of study. Postgraduate degree desirable.
- Additional Experience Desired: More than 5 years of experience in tax filing and calculation
- Additional Experience Desired: More than 5 years of experience in SAP data processing and automation
- Computer Skills Desired: Excellent knowledge in SAP, MS Excel, Power BI, Solid knowledge in other MS Office applications. SAP mandatory and Synchro systems knowledge is preferred.
- Preferred Certifications: Professional tax certification (e.g., CPA, CTA) is preferred
- Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Good English written and spoken is preferred
