This role is 100% remote in a labor relation PJ Contract in a part time model.
Under the supervision of the Accreditation Manager and the Infrastructure General Coordinator, perform inspections of detailed engineering designs for Infrastructure Projects, in compliance with Inmetro Ordinance No. 367 and NIT-DIOIS 02, following applicable national standards, international standards, ordinances, and regulations issued by requesting authorities such as ANTT, DNIT, DER, ARTESP, among others.
What You Will Do:
- Receive the documents required for the execution of the Inspection (A1 and A3 drawings, Technical Reports, Design Narratives/Specifications, Calculation Memoranda, Cost Estimates, and Schedules).
- Participate, when requested, in the preparation of the Inspection Plan.
- In accordance with the Inspection Plan, perform the completeness verification of the documentation, issuing the Completeness Report.
- Inspect the documents received in accordance with the applicable standards, the ABS-QE Management System, and the client’s specific requirements, using the checklists provided by ABS-QE.
- Issue Nonconformity Reports and submit them to the coordination team/engineering company.
- Evaluate Corrective Action Proposals received from the engineering companies.
- Evaluate the evidence related to the Corrective Action Proposals received from the engineering company.
- Close the checklists once the nonconformities have been resolved.
- Perform reinspection in accordance with the established workflow, whenever reinspection is required.
- Sign the Inspection Reports.
- Be responsible for the technical quality, content, consistency, and schedule compliance of all inspections assigned.
- Be responsible for collaborating in technical clarification meetings with clients.
- Participate in regulatory and Management System training, when required.
- Rework defective or incomplete services.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with a valid professional license to practice and a current registration with CREA.
- Knowledge related to the relevant technical disciplines.
- Knowledge of the standards and regulations applicable to Accredited Inspection.
- Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the Accredited Inspection Management System.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare more complex technical documents.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and report more complex issues in engineering documentation.
Ability to conduct planned short-, medium-, and long-term activities efficiently and effectively to meet established schedules.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Should have advanced practical industry-related experience.
- Knowledge of related technical disciplines.
- Knowledge of applicable Rules and Regulations and the impact of Rule applications and interpretations.
- Knowledge of company business policies and procedures.
- The human relations skills necessary to maintain positive client contacts and provide leadership and motivation to subordinate staff and peers.
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve complex or unique engineering problems.
- Ability to undertake short- and long-term planning to provide for efficient and effective scheduling of work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
- Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
Professional or chartered engineer license.
Reporting Relationships:
Part-time working relationship, governed by a service agreement, reporting to the Accreditation Manager and the General Coordinator of Accredited Inspection.
