The International Trade Manager will be responsible for leading, structuring, and consolidating our operations in China, ensuring efficiency in sourcing, international logistics, and the development of trading activities. This role will act as a strategic bridge between the office in China and the company’s headquarters in Brazil.
Responsabilidades e atribuições
Establish and structure the local office, defining processes, routines, and operational standards- Act as the legal and operational representative of the unit in China
- Manage the unit’s budget, operational costs, and financial control
- Maintain close and continuous relationships with existing suppliers
- Identify, qualify, and develop new strategic suppliers
- Negotiate prices, lead times, volumes, contracts, and commercial terms
- Conduct technical and commercial audits in factories
- Monitor the development of new products and private label projects
- Oversee partners’ production capacity, quality standards, certifications, and compliance
- Develop cost-reduction strategies and margin improvement initiatives
- Anticipate supply chain risks and propose contingency plans
- Coordinate and optimize international shipments (primarily China Brazil)
- Negotiate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics operators
- Analyze logistics costs, international freight, warehousing, and cargo consolidation
- Monitor export documentation, customs compliance, and shipment timelines
- Identify opportunities to improve lead times and logistics efficiency
- Map alternative logistics solutions to mitigate risks (ports, transport modes, consolidations)
- Structure and develop international trading operations
- Identify commercial opportunities beyond the China Brazil flow
- Develop new markets and strategic suppliers
- Evaluate the financial and tax feasibility of triangular operations
- Identify purchasing opportunities for resale or commercial intermediation
- Analyze global trends in the tire and raw materials markets
- Monitor trends in the Asian tire market
- Identify new technologies, technical standards, and innovations
- Track exchange rate fluctuations, raw material costs, and their business impact
- Provide strategic reports to leadership in Brazil
- Act as a cultural bridge between Brazil and China
- Develop strategic networking with manufacturers, local entities, and partners
- Represent the company at trade fairs, events, and technical visits in China
Requisitos e qualificações
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, International Relations, Engineering, Logistics, or related fields- Solid experience in import operations, international sourcing, or global supply chain
- Previous experience working with Asian suppliers (preferably in China)
- Strong knowledge of international negotiations and commercial contracts
- Experience with international logistics (ocean freight, export documentation, Incoterms)
- Experience in supplier development and factory audits
- Experience in structuring international operations is a plus
- Advanced or fluent English (mandatory)
- Mandarin Chinese (mandatory)
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Strategic mindset with focus on results and cost optimization
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- High level of resilience and adaptability
- Experience in the tire industry, auto parts, or industrial goods is preferred
