Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Pricing Analyst to prepare and deliver accurate, timely, and well-considered quotes across various transport modes and Incoterms, with a focus on maximizing profitability.
In this role, you will develop pricing solutions, source service providers, and provide suitable options based on customer needs. You will also support customer understanding where needed and build strong, sustainable relationships with both customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Costing & quoting of daily RFQs / inquiries from local clients and agents
- Proactively trying to optimize the profitability of the shipments quoted.
- Proactively negotiate with service providers the best contract rates and costs.
- Proactively following up feedback on quoted business and finding ways to increase the closing ratio.
- Proactively generate sales leads from different sources i.e., inquiries, database, online.
- Follow up sales leads through cold calls, emails, and other means such as WeChat (for overseas).
- Closely coordinate with the company’s sales representatives on the ground to support new business development and secure one-on-one meetings where possible.
- Review and analyse past quotes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Actively log CRM communications with prospects and existing clients in the company’s system and schedule follow-ups.
- Generating quotes from the company’s system when necessary.
- Proactively generate and qualify leads for yourself and the outside sales team through quotes and other company databases.
- Proactively educate yourself on the company’s systems as well as industry changes and regulations.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management.
Qualifications required:
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a freight forwarding airfreight environment.
- A minimum of 1 year’s pricing experience.
- Experience working on CargoWise is beneficial.
- High-level business communication skills, both spoken and written.
- A high-speed, unlimited internet connection.
- Incoterms 2020 knowledge is essential.
- Understanding of international shipping documentation, including AWB, BL, CI, PL, COO, etc.
- Comfortable working independently and remotely as required.
- Availability to work full-time hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM AEST/AEDT).
