We are hiring a Lead Data DevOps Engineer specializing in AWS to lead architecture and optimization of cloud-based data infrastructures. Responsibilities
- Lead design, deployment, and continuous improvement of AWS data infrastructure services such as ECS, RDS, Athena, Glue, S3, and Redshift
- Implement and advocate for Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation
- Work closely with data engineering and analytics teams to build high-performance data workflows using Python and AWS Glue
- Set and enforce best practices for CI/CD pipelines in AWS using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline
- Drive system enhancements focused on scalability, reliability, cost-efficiency, and operational streamlining
- Integrate modern data processing frameworks like Apache Airflow and Apache Spark (EMR) into workflows
- Manage escalations and conduct root cause analysis for critical AWS systems
- Establish secure IAM policies, encryption standards, and compliance for data infrastructure
- Lead capacity planning, resource management, and cost control initiatives
- Mentor engineers at multiple levels and provide technical leadership on AWS data infrastructure
- Collaborate with leadership to define project roadmaps and prioritize key initiatives
- Promote continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence
Requirements
- 5+ years in Data Engineering or DevOps roles emphasizing cloud infrastructure
- At least 1 year of leadership experience
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
- Strong SQL skills for complex data management
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services including Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena, and S3
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline
- Knowledge of distributed processing and orchestration frameworks such as Apache Spark and Airflow
- Strong Linux system administration and container orchestration skills (Docker, ECS/EKS)
- Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and troubleshooting in AWS
- Experience with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
- English proficiency at B2+ level
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP
- Familiarity with statistical tools and data visualization (R, Tableau, Power BI)
- Knowledge of advanced CI/CD and configuration management platforms
- Experience in secure hybrid cloud and on-premises solution design
- Hands-on Kubernetes management on AWS EKS/ECS
