Our client, a captive finance bank, is looking for a professional to take on the position of Mid-Level Internal Auditor.
Mission:
The Mid-Level Internal Auditor supports the execution of risk-based internal audits by evaluating the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control processes. Working under the guidance of senior manager, this role assists in identifying risks, assessing control effectiveness, documenting audit evidence and providing recommendations that strengthen the organization's control environment and support regulatory compliance.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field.
Technical knowledge
- knowledge of Internal Audit principles and methodologies.
- Understanding of internal control frameworks (COSO) and the Three Lines Model.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, Alteryx, ACL, or IDEA is a plus.
- Understanding of banking operations, financial products, and regulatory environments is desirable.
- Knowledge of International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) standards issued by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- Understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions, including:
- • Banking regulations.
- • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF).
- • Data Privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR or equivalent local regulations).
- • Information Security and Cyber Risk.
- • Operational Risk Management.

SUMMARIZED ACTIVITIES PERFORMED IN THE POSITION:
- Support the planning and execution of risk-based internal audit engagements across business and operational areas.
- Perform audit procedures and test the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality audit working papers in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and professional standards.
- Analyze business processes to identify risks, control gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collect, validate, and analyze audit evidence using appropriate audit techniques.
- Assist in preparing clear and concise audit reports, including observations, root causes, risk assessments, and recommendations.
- Monitor the implementation of agreed management action plans. 8. Support audits covering operational, financial, regulatory, compliance, technology, and cybersecurity risks.
- Use data analytics tools to identify trends, anomalies, and potential control deficiencies.
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders while maintaining the independence and objectivity of the Internal Audit function. Ensure compliance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA Standards), internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop, update, and maintain Internal Audit dashboards and management reports, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of audit metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support Continuous Auditing and Continuous Monitoring activities by analyzing data, identifying trends, anomalies, and emerging risks through automated monitoring routines.
Location: São Paulo, SP
Hybrid – 3 days a week at the office.
