THE POSITION
The Overlay Cluster Manager plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of temporary infrastructure across a group of assigned venues. This position requires close collaboration with the Venue Design team, Functional Areas (FAs), stadium authorities, and various stakeholders to ensure that overlay solutions are functional, cost-effective, and fully aligned with operational needs and technical standards.
Role to transition into onsite Overlay Venue Manager during final Event.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Venue Design team, Functional Areas, stadium authorities, and key stakeholders to define, optimize, and validate overlay solutions, ensuring technical requirements are accurately reflected in designs and BoQs.
- Contribute to procurement and tendering processes by preparing technical inputs for RFPs, supporting technical evaluations, and managing overlay contractors and suppliers across assigned venues.
- Manage change control and budget tracking for venues within the cluster, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule alignment.
- Coordinate and oversee the flow of technical information, including drawings, requirements, and updates, across all venues in the cluster.
- Maintain alignment with stadium authorities by monitoring construction schedules, planned renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Oversee overlay delivery from planning through construction, operations, and reinstatement, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely handover.
- Track progress, milestones, and deliverables, providing regular status updates and supporting the resolution of risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Support operational design development by consolidating raw data into compliant base drawings and ensuring consistent coding and naming conventions for effective tracking and change management.
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in architecture, engineering, urban planning or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years or more in infrastructural projects or Overlay/Technical Service roles in Major Events for a Sporting Organization
- Strong technical knowledge in temporary infrastructure.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and implement effective solutions.
- Autodesk applications (AutoCAD, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project)
- Right to work in Brazil
- Fluency in English and Portuguese; additional language(s) is an asset.
- Availability to travel as needed
- Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
