Mission of the Role:
At the Hiroshima factory, which manufactures automotive electronic parts (center displays, speedometers, etc.)
1) Process design/method development/introduction of production equipment
2) Launch of mass production process
3) Improving productivity after startup
Key Objectives of this Role:
1) Process design/method development/introduction of production equipment
- Consideration of process/construction method based on design input
- Creation of P-FMEA, Control Plan
- Production equipment concept planning and specification creation
- Negotiations with equipment manufacturers, ordering, and delivery date management
- Collaboration with technology center (India/Portugal)
2) Launch of mass production process
- Try production using new equipment
- Creating work instructions and providing training to manufacturing departments
3) Improving productivity after startup
- Analysis of mass production quality issues
- Production efficiency monitoring and analysis
- Development of investment plan for improvement
- Implementation of improvements involving equipment manufacturers/technical centers, etc.
Key Performance Indicators:
- OEE(overall equipment effectiveness)
- Tact time
- Scrap rate
Key Year One Deliverables:
- Equipment for mass production
- PMFEA/Control Plan/Work Instruction
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
Required
- Experience preparing for mass production in the manufacturing industry
- Experience in managing and improving board mounting lines
- Business level of Japanese and English
Preferred
- Experience in starting up new equipment at an automobile-related company
- Experience in process development/design/implementation of automated lines
- Experience in starting up and improving processes using product inspection equipment and measuring machines
- Knowledge of PLC control device/robot operation
- Inspection process experience at electronic parts factory
