Context

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Brazil is implementing various projects addressing the protection, assistance, and integration needs of migrants, refugees and other vulnerable populations in Brazil. IOM recognizes the importance of accurate and timely information to foster adequate programming and ensure accountability to affected population, donors and governments.

Under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer of the IOM Office in Boa Vista and in close collaboration with CCCM, Regularization and/or Relocation coordinators, the successful candidate will provide assistance to IOM Program activities in the Northern Brazil.


  • Responsibilities: In particular, the person will have the following responsibilities:

    Provide general/clerical assistance in the implementation of project activities.

    Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics

    Support project coordination for project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on program actions

    Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.

    Support the organization of meetings, workshops and training sessions

    Provide general assistance to the CCCM, Regularization, Relocation and Operations Teams in the field activities and project development.

    Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records

    Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications: EDUCATION

High School diploma with 02 years of relevant professional experience

EXPERIENCE

Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.

Ability to work independently according to established structures and guidelines, including administrative requirements.

Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multi- cultural setting is an advantage.

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

REQUIRED

For this position, fluency in Portuguese and Spanish is required (oral and written).

DESIRABLE

English is desirable.
