Regional Category Buyer - Metals (EMEA)

What are your main tasks?
- Analyse and evaluate procurement markets for your purchasing category.
- Conduct company-wide, international demand analyses.
- Consolidate requirements and manage tenders.
- Handle requests for quotation, offer comparisons, evaluations, and QAF analyses for series and future series materials, considering price, quality, delivery, and technology.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Prepare decision templates for awarding contracts in internal committees (e.g., International Sourcing Table, project teams).
- Coordinate with departments such as project purchasing, management, engineering, controlling, legal, accounting, and logistics.
- Execute process and value analyses with selected suppliers.
- Participate in make-or-buy decisions and contribute to supplier evaluations.
What are your qualifications?
- Completed university degree (commercial or technical) or completed vocational training with relevant further training (e.g. technician or business economist)
- Several years of professional experience in purchasing.
- Fluent English, additional languages are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong cost awareness, analytical thinking, and assertiveness.
- Goal-oriented and independent working style.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience in the metals sector is an advantage.
