We’re looking for a Senior 3D Animator & Rigger who is passionate about creating realistic, high-quality animations and technically complex rigs for real-time projects. You enjoy working at the intersection of animation and tech — bringing characters and creatures to life while building the systems that support them.
You have a strong understanding of animal movement and behavior, and you’re comfortable taking ownership of the full animation process — from crafting believable motion to implementing and fine-tuning it in Unreal Engine.
You’re also confident on the technical side: working with MetaHuman rigs, exploring facial animation workflows (including MetaHuman Animator), and building advanced rigs for animals, including muscle simulation. Whether using existing auto-rig tools or developing custom solutions, you’re able to adapt your approach to fit the needs of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create realistic animal animations (locomotion, behavior, reactions)
- Ideally work with Animation Blueprints in Unreal Engine
- Set up state machines and blend spaces
- Integrate animations into gameplay in collaboration with programmers
- Work with IK, root motion, and physically accurate movement
- Optimize animations for real-time performance
- Maintain a high level of realism and visual quality
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in 3D animation (games / real-time / simulators)
- Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine (UE4 / UE5)
- Excellent understanding of animal anatomy and movement
- Experience with Maya, Blender, or MotionBuilder
- Understanding of Animation Blueprints, IK, and retargeting
- Experience with Motion Matching
- Ability to work independently and make animation decisions
- English: working proficiency (Upper-Intermediate or higher)
Nice to Have
- Experience working on simulators or realistic projects
- Experience with motion capture (including animals)
- Experience with Control Rig in Unreal Engine
- Experience optimizing animations for performance
- Experience with plugins and custom solutions in UE5
