We are seeking a specialized Senior Database Administrator to manage, secure, and optimize our on-premises infrastructure.
In this role, you will oversee critical PostgreSQL and EnterpriseDB (EDB) Postgres Advanced Server environments, ensuring high availability and seamless migrations. You will play a key part in maintaining data compliance and maximizing uptime within a secure physical and virtual setup.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain on-premises PostgreSQL and EDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS) clusters
- Optimize database performance by tuning slow queries and adjusting parameters using EDB Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM)
- Ensure high availability by managing failover, replication, and disaster recovery systems with EDB tools
- Enforce security measures, including applying database patches, managing access controls, and implementing encryption protocols in the on-prem environment
- Support migration activities by maintaining and developing Oracle-compatible PL/SQL objects for legacy system integration
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in database administration with extensive production expertise in PostgreSQL and EDB
- Proven ability to manage databases on-premises, including bare metal, VMware, or private cloud platforms
- Advanced proficiency with EDB Failover Manager (EFM), Backup and Recovery Tool (BART), and EDB Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM)
- Strong command of SQL, PL/pgSQL, and Oracle compatibility features such as PL/SQL
- Skilled in Linux system administration, shell scripting, and optimizing storage performance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English at B2+ level or higher
