Software Engineer (Envoy Proxy) at Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados)

As a Software Engineer (Envoy Proxy), you will work on extending and optimizing this high-performance L7 proxy. You will bridge the gap between low-level networking and application-level connectivity, ensuring efficient and reliable traffic management across complex microservices architectures.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Envoy filters to meet specific architectural and security requirements.
• Optimize proxy performance and resource utilization by deep-diving into C++ codebases and L4/L7 networking protocols.
• Implement and manage xDS APIs for dynamic configuration and service discovery within a service mesh environment.
• Contribute to the upstream Envoy project or internal forks to improve core functionality and stability.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to define proxy standards and implement mTLS and observability features.

What we are looking for:

• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on systems programming and networking.
• Proven expertise in developing and optimizing Envoy proxy internals and custom filters.
• Advanced proficiency in C++ and deep understanding of L4/L7 networking protocols.
• Hands-on experience with xDS APIs for dynamic configuration and service discovery.
• Strong background in contributing to upstream Envoy or similar high-performance networking projects.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
