Programmer Engineer (Automation & Industrial Electronics) – Chipboard / MDF Production
Location: Brazil (Utradecor Operations)
Travel Required: Frequent travel to production and project sites across North Africa, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Programmer Engineer (Automation & Industrial Electronics) to support the operation, maintenance, and development of automated systems within our Chipboard and MDF production facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliable performance of industrial automation, control systems, and electronic equipment across multiple international operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the reliable and uninterrupted operation of electrical, electronic, and automated production equipment.
- Supervise the maintenance and performance of industrial automation systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control, measuring, and industrial electronic equipment.
- Configure, program, and optimize automatic control systems to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in the development of maintenance schedules, operational plans, and equipment repair programs.
- Identify equipment, spare parts, and tooling requirements and prepare procurement requests.
- Develop, implement, and support automated control systems using:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Industrial automation systems
- Electric drives
- Frequency converters (VFDs)
- Monitor and coordinate third-party electrical installation and commissioning activities.
- Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Support production teams in resolving automation and process control issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, system backups, and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, technical standards, and company procedures.
Requirements
- Specialized education in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electronics and automation systems.
- Practical experience working with industrial electronic equipment and automated production systems.
- Experience with PLC programming, industrial control systems, and frequency drives is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills and familiarity with industrial software applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to operational sites in North Africa, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
