UTEC is looking to add qualified Survey Engineers to the team in Brazil. The Survey Engineer will assist in ensuring that all engineering work carried out on site is conducted in the best interests of UTEC and the Client and meets all project safety, contractual, and quality requirements. The Survey Engineer shall also ensure that all equipment received to the vessel is configured correctly.
Duties
Be able to give and receive handover notes at end/start of rotation
Demonstrate the ability to maintain clear and concise survey logs and report unambiguously
as required
Monitor equipment status and location throughout project lifecycle and be responsible for
identification, documentation, and action on planned maintenance and equipment calibration/certification as required
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with other Survey Personnel
Comment on defect reports raised/received
Liaise with Project Support Manager, Survey Project Managers, Engineering Manager and
equipment suppliers during execution of projects to ensure that all equipment requirements of the project are resourced correctly
Identify and mitigate potential equipment related technical/QHSE risks for assigned projects
Ensure that equipment QHSE records are uploaded to management system in a timely manner
Carry out mobilization and vessel/site assessments as assigned
Attend and assist in mobilization of vessels, reporting and taking instruction from either the
assigned UTEC Project Manager or UTEC Survey Site Representative while on vessel
Attending vessel inductions and QHSE briefings as requested
Adhering to Standard or Project procedures while involved in tasks on vessel
Liaise with third parties and ensure all necessary documentation and permissions are obtained
Ensuring that mobilization/demobilization support equipment is returned to base and or suppliers as appropriate
Regularly review equipment maintenance costs and identify possible efficiencies and report them to the Operations Manager
Actively participate and lead by example in the Company’s Quality and HSE Systems and Procedures
Understand and comply with UTEC PPE requirements, policies and procedures
Comply with all reasonable Health and Safety instructions from UTEC
Report all Health, Safety, and Environment incidents, including near misses, unsafe acts and
hazards to management
Help generate, update, and review risk assessments and job safety analysis, where applicable
Participate in relevant HSE meetings and “toolbox talks” within the respective department
Demonstrate conversance with the Project HSE Plan where applicable to your position/department
Participate in accident investigations where required
Required
Education in Electronics or Engineering preferred
Field experience as a Survey Engineer preferred
Should preferably hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where UTEC routinely operates
Demonstrate knowledge of fault-finding techniques
Supervise equipment modifications
