About the Role


We are looking for a Technical Process Support Engineer with a strong commercial mindset and solid process engineering experience within the oil and gas industry.

This role combines topside process engineering expertise with the ability to identify optimization opportunities, assess production assets, and translate technical diagnostics into value-generating business solutions for clients.

The professional will evaluate onshore and offshore production units, conduct technical audits, identify operational bottlenecks, and propose innovative, economically viable solutions focused on asset optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical and operational audits of oil and gas production assets.
  • Assess process performance, identify bottlenecks, and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Perform independent process diagnostics on onshore and offshore units (FPSOs, fixed platforms, and onshore facilities).
  • Translate technical findings into structured value propositions and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop optimization roadmaps focused on operational efficiency and economic return.
  • Support aftermarket services, brownfield projects, and topside modifications.
  • Interface directly with Operations, Engineering teams, suppliers, and clients to gain firsthand familiarity of customer needs plus product applications.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning, start-up, ramp-up, and operational phases (desirable).
  • Provides qualified technical sales support to sales team for marketing and sales activities, and to Operations for technical support as required.
  • Evaluate customer support issues as well as maintain top level positive perception by customers pertinent to organization support structure.
  • Prepare technical samples, designs along with presentations to provide supportive technical data as per customer needs.
  • Participate in sales support related conferences, trade shows, workshops plus meetings to update on current information plus developments in industry.


Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Production, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • CREA active

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience working onboard offshore units and/or onshore production facilities.
  • Background in process audits, performance evaluation, and operational efficiency analysis.

Core Technical Knowledge

  • Oil, gas, and water separation systems.
  • Strong expertise in managing gas production operations and processes: topside, refining, downstrime, production platforms.
  • Gas treatment systems (H₂S/CO₂ removal via amine or membrane systems, dehydration, compression).
  • Produced water treatment systems.
  • Heat exchangers, pressure vessels, filtration systems, and utilities.
  • Familiarity with amine systems, membranes, fixed-bed scavengers, and hybrid process configurations.
  • Experience in aftermarket services and brownfield environments.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry standards (API, ASME, NORSOK – desirable).
  • Strong interest in commercial activity, sales, and expanding business opportunities.
  • Process Simulation Software Expertise: Aspen HYSYS

Languages

  • Advanced English (mandatory).
  • Fluent Portuguese (mandatory).
