Technical Services Senior Manager

THE POSITION

The Technical Services Senior Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and delivery of all technical services across tournament venues, ensuring full alignment with Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) requirements and international standards. The role leads the integration and operational readiness of venue infrastructure services including power systems (grid, overlay, and backup), containment, water and waste, HVAC, and broadcast technical support across stadiums, training sites, and non-competition venues.
The position oversees the planning, execution, and supervision of technical services and infrastructure operations, managing power contractors and key suppliers, coordinating containment planning, and leading stadium technical inspections and independent audits. Working closely with internal teams, Host Cities, Stadium Authorities, service providers, and other stakeholders, the role ensures technical compliance, cross-functional alignment, and delivery excellence while maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate closely with key Functional Areas to define, refine, and validate technical services requirements, including power, containment, water and waste, HVAC, and floodlighting, across stadiums, training sites, and non-competition venues.
  • Lead coordination with Host Cities, Stadium Authorities, power contractors, utility providers, and suppliers to ensure seamless planning, integration, and delivery of power solutions.
  • Support and contribute to procurement activities, including preparation of technical inputs for RFPs, participation in tendering processes, technical evaluations, and coordination with contracted suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and performance of power infrastructure, including grid, overlay, and backup systems, ensuring alignment with Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) standards and operational requirements.
  • Manage containment planning and execution, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient routing for power, broadcast, and other technical services.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and compliance of technical services works, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate stadium technical inspections, readiness reviews, and independent technical audits, ensuring timely closure of findings and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) technical guidelines and international standards, while balancing operational needs, timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Act as the central technical interface between Functional Areas, suppliers, and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and decision-making.
  • Support procurement, contracting, and supplier performance management related to power, MEP and technical services, including scope definition and technical evaluation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and driving standardization and best practices across venues.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or engineering field
  • A minimum of 8 years work experience in a technical services related field within Major Events/Sports Organization
  • Experience with Energy / MEP required (e.g. Temporary Power, Ventilation and Cooling, Cabling)
  • Strong technical knowledge in Energy / MEP required (e.g. Temporary Power, Ventilation and Cooling, Cabling, Entertainment)
  • Proficient in MS Office and planning software and online collaboration tools
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and implement effective solutions.
  • Right to work in Brazil.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written)
  • Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
  • Availability to travel as needed
