Accounting Director / Fractional CFO | Bilingual
Are you a strategic financial leader with a passion for mission-driven causes? We are seeking an Accounting Director / Fractional CFO to join a people-first organization, leading client relationships and overseeing the financial integrity of their operations.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, aligned with Eastern Time (ET) business hours (approx. 8:00 AM – 5:00/6:00 PM).
- Model: 100% Remote
- Type: Full-time (30–40 hours per week).
- English level: Advanced (C1)
What will your impact be?
- Client Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact, building long-term trusted relationships and communicating financial data clearly, practically, and empathetically.
- Strategy & Oversight: Lead monthly and annual accounting processes, reviewing financial statements and applying sound judgment to revenue recognition and grant accounting.
- Team Management: Supervise and review the work performed by bookkeepers, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Autonomy: Operate with minimal supervision, reducing oversight load for current leadership and participating actively in client decision-making.
What are we looking for?
- Experience: 5+ years of Director-level experience (Accounting Director, Controller, CFO, or similar).
- Industry: Indispensable experience working with nonprofit organizations and managing grant compliance/accounting.
- Mindset: A "People-first" approach. We need someone motivated by social impact, with high emotional intelligence and a calm, thoughtful communication style.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and advanced Excel.
- Advisory: Previous experience in consulting, advisory, or fractional CFO environments.
