Role Overview:
The successful candidate will research the local automotive market to gather accurate data on vehicle specifications using industry websites and publications. You will be responsible for regularly collecting, validating, and inputting pricing and specification data for new vehicles to support and enhance official datasets. In addition, you will play a key role in improving the overall quality and accuracy of the specifications database for the relevant market.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain key contacts within the motor industry.
Liaise with automobile manufacturers and importers to collect data on a regular basis.
Actively find new and better ways of collecting information to help enhance the official price and specs data
Liaise with other data suppliers, trade organisations, and dealers to gain additional information about the automobile industry.
Collaborate with other Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) staff to gather additional pertinent automobile data.
Input the data collected (from the previous 5 points) in the appropriate software on a daily basis.
Maintain a telephone/visit/inspections log for queries made at the manufacturers, as well as reporting the status of data collection on a regular basis.
Monitor the quality of the data on the local market and report any anomalies to the Production Department for correction.
Prepare news bulletins both in English and in the local language (where relevant) for the Company’s International Electronic News Service (Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados)News)
Perform online web inspections at new/current sold vehicles and cross-check with database to check inconsistences and improve quality of database
Audit quality of information based in data sources and review checks within database in order to improve the accuracy of database and prevention of errors.
Key Requirements:
Ability to process data accurately is essential
Results-driven with strong attention to detail
Able to prioritize tasks and respond to tight deadlines
Excellent English and local language skills
Experience of structuring articles which must be submitted to our news service (Confidencial (Apenas para Cadastrados) News) would be desirable
Good IT skills (MS Excel, preferably also data input systems)
Ability to work independently
The ideal candidate will preferably hold a third level education, with qualifications in economics, statistics, business studies, marketing, or similar. An engineering background would also be appropriate. A good command of both written and spoken English is essential as well as a keen interest in the automotive industry.
