Responsibilities and Attributions
About the Role
CGN Brazil is looking for an Energy Transition Specialist to support the development of energy storage (BESS), renewable-powered data centers, and emerging energy transition solutions, including CSP (concentrated solar power), green hydrogen, and “renewables +” integrated projects.
This role combines technical expertise, techno-economic analysis, and commercial structuring, contributing to the company’s long-term energy transition strategy in Brazil.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop BESS and renewable-powered data center projects from early feasibility to investment decision
- Lead or support opportunity studies for:
- CSP (solar thermal) projects
- Green hydrogen and Power-to-X concepts
- Integrated “renewables +” solutions (renewables + storage, hydrogen, data centers, industrial loads)
- Perform technical and economic assessments, including CAPEX/OPEX, IRR, LCOE, and scenario analysis
- Support definition of technical solutions (capacity, power, storage duration, grid connection, hybrid configurations)
- Participate in commercial structuring and contract negotiations, including:
- EPC / EPCM contracts
- Equipment supply agreements
- O&M contracts
- PPA / VPPA / self-consumption and data center power supply agreements
- Coordinate with grid operators, regulators, consultants, and internal teams
- Support investment committee materials, business cases, and strategic decision-making
Requisites and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Energy, Economics, or related fields
- 5–10 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Energy storage (BESS)
- Renewable energy project development (solar, wind, hybrid)
- Data centers, power infrastructure, or large energy consumers
- Energy transition technologies (CSP, hydrogen, PtX – preferred)
- Solid understanding of energy technologies and project economics
- Experience with commercial terms, risk allocation, and contract structures
- Knowledge of the Brazilian power market and regulatory framework is a strong plus
