Junior Data Engineer - Remote/Brazil

We’re looking for a Junior Data Engineer who is at the beginning of their career (or transitioning into data) and wants to grow in a hands-on, technical environment. This role is focused on learning by doing — supporting the development of data pipelines, working with data structures, and building a strong foundation in data engineering. You’ll work closely with more experienced team members and have space to develop your technical skills while contributing to real data projects.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines (ETL/ELT);

• Assist in building and organizing data structures, tables, and databases;

• Help with data ingestion, transformation, and cleaning processes;

• Work alongside the analytics team to ensure data availability and quality;

• Support troubleshooting and improvements in data workflows;

• Document processes, pipelines, and data structures;

• Use version control (Git) in day-to-day activities;

• Participate in team rituals and collaborate on deliveries.

Requirements:

• Experience with Python and SQL;

• Understanding of programming logic and basic data structures;

• Familiarity with data concepts (ETL, data modeling, pipelines — even at a theoretical level);

• Academic experience, personal projects, or initial professional experience with data;

• Willingness to learn and grow in data engineering;

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail;

• Ability to read technical documentation in English.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to data pipeline or orchestration tools (Airflow, NiFi, etc.);

• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP);

• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development;

• Understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, etc.);

• Experience with open-source data tools;
