We are looking to add an experienced Proposals Specialist to the team in Rio. This position will support the Business Development Manager in the preparation and submission of all tenders as per the company Integrated Management System (IMS) using accepted technical methodologies and commercial models.

The successful candidate will be based in the Rio de Janeiro area.

Duties

  • Log all invitations to tender (ITT) and requests for quotation (RFQ) to Segment’s database on receipt

  • Creation and management of proposal folders, and population of folders with ITT/RFQ documents and communications

  • Timely acknowledgement of ITTs/RFQs received, and transmission of other necessary responses to clients

  • Task contract & operation departments with contractual & technical review of ITTs/RFQs as necessary

  • Request, obtain and review subcontractors’ quotations when required

  • Accurate costing of projected resources and pricing of bids in line with bid strategy

  • Compilation of bid documents, ensuring all elements meet client’s requirements or are suitably qualified, writing text when necessary to present segment’s proposal

  • Interface with client during tender response

  • Schedule and conduct postmortem with client for unsuccessful tenders

  • Report ITT/RFQ requirements with bid strategy recommendations to BD Manager and General Manager as necessary

  • Ensure timely submission of proposals either by electronic transmission, upload to client’s website, or courier of bid documents

  • Clarification, revision and re-submission of bids, consulting other departments and obtaining management approval, when necessary, prior to re-submission

  • Maintain client procurement portals


  • Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial or proposal role within an Oil & Gas service environment

  • Excellent customer facing skills e.g. communication and problem solving

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or similar field (MBA is a plus).

  • Commitment to continuous improvement

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Fluent in English
