The Data Platform Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Shape Digital’s data is accessible, reliable, and well-processed, supporting insights and AI/ML initiatives. As a technical pillar, they develop and maintain scalable and automated systems, with a focus on performance, data integrity, and high engineering standards. They also know when to leverage existing solutions to accelerate value delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust data pipelines and services that power product features and applications.
- Implement scalable data structures and services, ensuring query optimization and data integrity.
- Build and maintain data processing solutions using appropriate technologies for batch and streaming workloads.
- Create and optimize databases, data lakes, and data warehouses, applying best practices in security and privacy.
- Containerize and deploy data services to production environments using CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and implement efficient technical solutions.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure stability and scalability.
Requirements:
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python, Golang, or similar languages with emphasis on writing efficient, reliable, and maintainable code.
- Data Systems: Deep knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including advanced optimization and management techniques.
- ETL & Streaming: Expertise in designing and implementing distributed data processing solutions using tools like Spark, Kafka, and Airflow for both batch and near-real-time workloads.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Advanced experience with cloud platforms and services, containerization, and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Data Architecture: Ability to design comprehensive data architectures that address current needs and future scalability.
- Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and GitOps practices.
- Service Design: Experience designing and implementing resilient microservices and data APIs.
- Security & Compliance: Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance requirements for data platforms.
- Language: English proficiency;
