We are looking to add an experienced Business Development Manager to the team in Rio. The Business Development Manager will be based in the regional business unit and will be responsible for organic growth of the UTEC Geo-services group in existing and new service lines in the onshore/offshore survey market. They will establish sales strategies, oversee day to day direct sales with a focus on securing Company backlog. The BD Manager develops project “win” strategies, feeds market intelligence and strategy to the Commercial team targeting planned financial and strategic objectives. The individual is also tasked with providing support to tenders with a view to ensuring that key client intel and drivers are incorporated and addressed in the commercial offering.
The successful candidate will be based in the Rio de Janeiro area.

Duties
Responsible for supporting development of the annual sales budget and ongoing sales forecasts
Develop market & specific segment sales strategies as well as project “win” strategies via the compilation of “Pursuit Plans”
Provide support during the commercial bid process
Lead and assist in direct sales presentations of the full range of company’s services to existing and prospective clients
Direct sales initiative for new market opportunities and areas of strategic growth
Maintain client relations having regular direct meetings and phone/email activity
Prepare and maintain accurate and timely sales data by input into the Business Planning System (BPS)
Upon project award, work with key functional departments to ensure a smooth transition from commercial to technical/operations departments
Advise Business Unit/s & Leadership on market intelligence
Develop existing business and identify new market opportunities, leading or assisting in the preparation of business plans, service line/s development, case studies and the like
Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new market sectors
Inform and liaise with other sales and business development functions to ensure coherent BD strategy and process is adhered to
Inform and liaise with other Business Unit BD Managers to ensure broad understanding across regions of ongoing client communications and asset movements, and to leverage international relationships to deliver regional strategy
Assist in the develop and implementation of marketing plans as needed
Support the company’s marketing efforts through attendance at company and industry events
Maintain database of competition and provide regular updates on specific threats or opportunities in the monthly management report
Attends UTEC sales & marketing meetings and/or calls as required
Keep records of all activities in the company’s BPS and is able to evaluate and disseminate sales performance from these records and the IMS, including but not limited to: YTD Bids, Monthly Bids, Win/Loss rations. Bids per Service line, Weekly Narrative
Support in compiling Business Unit monthly reports to ensure that sales narrative is accurate
Actively involved in professional industry associations to establish recognition and credibility of company’s value to the industry
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented
Communicates customer feedback to General Manager and relevant department leads
Required
Degree in Engineering related discipline, preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ successful business development experience, or 8 years’ experience in a sales/commercial position, preferred
Proven track record of success in complex sales delivery
Proven track record of developing and delivering successful BD strategies
Extensive experience in business development, ideally in the Geoservices sector and associated Business Unit regional locations UTEC operates in
Previous experience in managing client relations and delivering client expectations
Fluent in English
