Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Carrier Development Representative to work on the sourcing side of the brokerage, establishing carrier relationships to provide cost-effective logistics solutions for customers. This role focuses on developing strong negotiation and interpersonal skills while building a robust carrier network. Key responsibilities:
Carrier Relationship Development
- Develop, establish, and maintain relationships with carriers in the truckload marketplace
- Identify, source, and procure new carrier relationships to expand capacity network
- Build a personal book of carrier partners that grows over time
Carrier Network Management
- Manage carrier network to ensure accurate levels of service and performance
- Monitor carrier reliability, on-time performance, and service quality
- Maintain strong communication with carrier partners throughout the shipping process
Operational Execution
- Find trucks and book loads to match customer freight needs
- Track trucks and shipments throughout transit
- Resolve trucking-related issues proactively and efficiently
- Navigate the company's proprietary AI Native Platform to manage daily operational load management tasks
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Utilize data-driven resources to make informed buying decisions
- Analyze market trends and capacity metrics to negotiate competitive rates
- Leverage technology and AI tools to optimize carrier selection and pricing
- 1-2 years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or logistics
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Negotiation skills with ability to develop and improve over time
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow in the logistics industry
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple carriers and loads simultaneously
- Comfortable working with technology platforms and AI-driven tools
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to resolve issues quickly
- Results-driven with a competitive, goal-oriented attitude
- Team player willing to collaborate with operations and sales teams
