Descrição completa da vaga
We are seeking a senior Network Reliability Engineer (NRE) to design, build, and operate the software and data systems that automate and scale our network infrastructure. This role is a hybrid of software engineering, data analytics, and network engineering. The ideal candidate is a software engineer with a passion for data-driven decision-making and a deep understanding of IP networking and cloud-native systems.
This is a hybrid role; 3 days a week required in the office (Sao Paulo or Brasilia), 2 days working remotely. Occasionally, up to 40% of the time for travel.
- Develop and maintain software for network automation, data collection, and API-driven orchestration.
- Design, build, and manage data pipelines and observability dashboards (using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to monitor network health, availability, and capacity.
- Automate the provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of our enterprise and service provider wireless (WLAN/Wi-Fi) infrastructure, including controllers and access points.
- Apply data analytics techniques to network telemetry to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, predict failures, and optimize traffic flow.
- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions (using Kubernetes, AWS/GCP) for deploying and managing network services and applications.
- Act as the subject matter expert for IP networking, providing design guidance and advanced troubleshooting for complex routing, switching, and cloud connectivity issues.
Core Technical Skills
- IP Networking: Expert-level knowledge of IP networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and IP services (DNS, DHCP).
- Wireless Networking: Strong understanding of enterprise and large-scale Wi-Fi (802.11) architecture, including WLAN controllers, access points, and RF principles. Experience with wireless authentication protocols (WPA2/3-Enterprise, 802.1X, RADIUS).
- Data Analytics: Proven experience in data analysis, querying, and visualization. Strong proficiency in SQL and using data to drive technical and business decisions.
- Network Troubleshooting: Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in complex, large-scale distributed network environments.
Software & Cloud Engineering
- Programming: 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, with advanced proficiency in Python (including libraries like Pandas, FastAPI) and/or Go.
- Cloud-Native Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and at least one major public cloud platform (AWS or GCP).
- API Development: Experience in developing and consuming REST APIs for system integration and automation.
Tools & Protocols
- Observability Stack: Expertise with modern monitoring and logging tools, specifically Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Databases: Familiarity with time-series or relational databases (e.g., InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, PostgreSQL).
Collaboration & Soft Skills
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ownership: A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the network's end-to-end performance and reliability.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with a passion for "peeling the onion" to find the root cause of a problem, not just its symptoms.
- Collaboration: A proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment, bridging the gap between network operations, software development, and data teams.
- Curiosity: A deep-seated curiosity and desire for continuous learning, staying up-to-date with new technologies in cloud, data, and networking.
- Languages: English and Spanish fluency.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant role such as Network Reliability Engineer (NRE), Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Network Automation Engineer, or Software Engineer focused on network systems.
- Telecom Domain: Functional understanding of 4G/LTE or 5G core network architecture (EPC/5GC).
- Telecom Protocols: Familiarity with mobile network protocols (e.g., GTP, Diameter).
- Network Hardware: Experience with Juniper, Cisco, or Athonet core equipment.
- Automation Tools: Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Plus: Vendor networking certifications will be considered as a plus (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, …)
